Context

The position is based in Manila Administrative Centre (MAC), headed by the Director of MAC. MAC RMU-ICT is one of the divisions of the Resource Management Unit (RMU) Under the overall supervision of the Senior Resource Management Officer, and the direct supervision of National ICT Officer (Infra & Operations), the successful candidates will provide Desktop/Local Technical support and services to users of IOM’s corporate applications, promoting a client and service-oriented approach.

Core Functions / Responsibilities
  • Issue ticket ownership – open, update, and close tickets assigned, meeting or exceeding Service Level Agreements (SLA).
    • Take ownership of user problems and be proactive when dealing with user issues.
    • Provide desktop level technical support (local support) such as immediate diagnosis and workarounds for reported incidents.
    • Log all actions and steps taken to respond to an incident or to complete a request.
    • Assist in determining root causes and propose resolution for problems raised by reported incidents.
    • Escalate to ICT Associate for technical support and supervisor when necessary and accordingly to identified priority levels.
  • Assist the ICT Associate in supporting planned technology upgrades for network, systems, and applications.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Manage and monitor internal assets to ensure accurate inventory records.
  • Provide documentation of ICT local support processes.
  • Perform daily network monitoring of MAC’s LAN and Internet connection.
Education
  • University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field from an accredited academic institution, with one year of relevant work experience; or
  • Completed High school degree from an accredited academic institution, with three years of relevant professional experience in a project management office or in project administration/management.
Experience
  • Ability to use computer applications for staff scheduling, project management and resource tracking.
  • Basic understanding of budgeting, procurement and staff administration support.
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural office environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows, Office, and Outlook, and desktop software applications in order to assist users with issues aligned with those applications;
  • Basic knowledge of IOM procurement rules, IT procurement and IT assets management an advantage.
Languages

For this position, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of a second official UN language is desirable.
