Under the overall supervision of the head of Recruitment Unit and the direct supervision of the Human Resource Officer, the successful candidate will be part of the global recruitment team (REC) supporting the recruitment and selection of IOM staff members in the professional category (worldwide) and general service category (at Headquarters). In addition, the selected candidate is expected to work closely with the social media unit and the graphic artist to create engaging content that enhance the social media presence of the recruitment unit.

Core Functions / Responsibilities
  • Assist with planning, design and posting of brand-focused social media contents;
  • In collaboration with the Graphic Artist and the social media unit, propose and publish weekly media posts; propose and develop new recruitment related content for LinkedIn, Instagram, Yammer, Blogs, Facebook posts, etc. to create brand loyalty and community.
  • Seek out new social media avenues and ways of connecting with potential applicants.
  • Support in conducting social sourcing, particularly for hard to fill positions.
  • Assist in posting job vacancies on internal and external channels.
  • Create and update posts to include relevant keywords for search engine optimization on social media and job boards.
  • Conduct initial review of panel compositions to ensure balance and diversity; and provide feedback to hiring managers. Assign access for panel members and HR focal persons to relevant vacancies. Provide basic trouble-shooting support and escalate issues to the technical team as needed.
  • Attend to basic queries received in the Recruitment Unit’s mailbox(es) from candidates on their applications and the selection process. Provide trouble-shooting support and escalate issues to the technical team as needed including on Clear Check.
  • Screen applications using the applicant tracking system. Prepare and send out vacancy closing notification to panel members.
  • Conduct initial review of selection forms received from hiring managers.
  • Tag candidates in the applicant tracking system and notify unsuccessful candidates of the selection results for each vacancy.
  • Assist in maintaining a roster of suitable candidates based on their area of expertise.
  • Update tracking lists relating to assigned duties, in collaboration with other Recruitment Assistants as applicable.
  • Provide support in the preparation of quarterly and annual statistical reports.
  • Provide administrative support to hiring managers in organizing written tests, scheduling interviews.
  • Assist in initiating background check requests.
  • Serves as a replacement for the regional focal point in the assigned region in case of absence.
  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
  • University degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or a related field from an accredited academic institution with two year of relevant experience; or
  • Completed High school / Secondary school education with four years of relevant experience.
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural setting an advantage.
  • Proven experience in the use of LinkedIn; experience with the use of Instagram, Yammer, and other social media for recruitment purposes.
  • High level of computer literacy, experience with HR IT systems and applicant tracking system is an advantage.
  • Creative flair and the ability to drive innovation.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and ability to present ideas in a user-friendly language.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team and to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven Networking skills and demonstrated client-Service Skills.

For this position, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of a second official UN language is desirable.
